2023 Subaru Crosstrek should undergo some major changes, both inside and out, as this subcompact crossover continues to advance to new generations.

With the rest of the Subaru lineup getting significant changes—including the Forester compact SUV—the Crosstrek 2023 looks set to soon follow in their footsteps (or tire tracks, if you will).

While nothing has been officially confirmed by Subaru yet, here are some of the key changes we believe will happen to Crosstrek 2023.

The SUV-meets-wagon’s overall size and shape will remain largely the same, although the front will feature a reshaped grille and slimmer headlights — perhaps similar in design to those used on the 2022 Forester.

Expect a cleaner, fresher look. , with some of the bumps and irregular angles of the outgoing Crosstrek smoothed out on the 2023 model.

In keeping with Subaru’s tradition, all-wheel drive will be standard on all trims and a boxer-style 4-cylinder engine will provide motivation. It’s unclear whether Subaru will continue to offer the base 152-horsepower 4-cylinder, though we wouldn’t shed a tear if it did.

While helping to keep Crosstrek prices low, the performance of this base machine leaves a lot to be desired.

A 182-hp 4-cylinder is optional in the 2022 Crosstrek and we wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes the only engine available sometime in 2023. The fate of the available manual transmission also looks bleak, at best, and is likely to get a hea-ho.

A plug-in hybrid variant will also be available, although we are reviewing that model separately. Look for the more advanced safety features to be installed throughout the Crosstrek 2023 lineup.

This Subaru has a solid reputation for safety and strong crash test scores, so expect more of the same for the next-gen version.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Review

The original Subaru Crosstrek was a smash hit, building on the legacy of another so popular Subaru, offering more off-road personality and credibility than any other SUV in its class.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek

Subaru continues to improve the model for the second generation, adding more technology assistance and a more powerful driver and powertrain. Having said that, given that the second-generation Crosstrek hit dealerships in 2017, we wouldn’t be surprised if Subaru introduced a redesigned model for 2023 as most cars and SUVs undergo a major redesign every four to six years.

The Subaru Crosstrek is essentially an Impreza hatchback raised, similar to how the Outback is a hatch-lifted Legacy.

That’s not a bad thing, though, as we love the Impreza’s roomy cabin, state-of-the-art driver assistance and standard all-wheel drive, all of which are brought to Crosstrek. Combine the latter’s increased ground clearance and a stylish but not overwhelming exterior styling, and you have an attractive little compact.

While there’s no official confirmation yet, the redesign for 2023 could bring features we’ve seen on newer Subaru models like the Forester and Outback, including improved in-car technology and improved fuel efficiency.

Expect to see the Crosstrek Hybrid return as well, and we’d be surprised if Subaru didn’t offer the Crosstrek Wilderness, with less ground clearance, all-terrain tires and an evolving style, patterned after the Forester Wilderness and Outback Wilderness trim.

The Crosstrek has plenty of rivals, with nearly every major automaker offering an extra small SUV or two. Edmunds favorites include the Mazda CX-30, Volkswagen Taos and Chevrolet Trailblazer, though neither offer the same level of off-road capability as the Crosstrek.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Big Changes and Update

2023 Subaru Crosstrek is a rugged subcompact crossover on par with hatchbacks and SUVs. Introduced as the XV Crosstrek for the 2013 model year, this vehicle is essentially an Impreza hatchback with a lift kit and tough-looking body cover.

The second-generation model is currently on sale for 2018. Given that cadence, the third-generation Crosstrek could debut for the 2023 model year.

We’ll be watching the Crosstrek 2023 closely—Subaru better not mess with one of our favorite subcompact SUVs. We doubt it will stray too far from the popular formula, again coming in a hatchback-esque form factor and riding on a raised road-ready suspension.

However, we have a wish list for the next generation of Crosstrek. Seeing Subaru’s latest large infotainment screen — now offered on the Outback, Legacy, and WRX — would be a nice addition, as would better interior materials.

Our main request is for more power. Our desires were slightly satisfied with the addition of the Sport model, but the extra grunts will be welcome — will the turbocharged engine finally arrive? And will the low-volume plug-in hybrid model come back in slightly faster form?

Either way, we’re looking forward to Crosstrek 2023. Unless Subaru somehow manages to bust it, the brand will likely have another bestseller in store.

Given it’s a Subaru, the Crosstrek 2023 will have standard AWD, likely linked to an automatic CVT or, possibly, a six-speed manual in the base trim. The current model is offered with three powertrains: two flat-four engines with different power levels, plus a plug-in hybrid.

We expect this to largely carry over, although we wouldn’t be disappointed if the bold standard 2.0-liter engine were to be ditched in favor of a more powerful 2.5-liter upgrade. As long as such a switch won’t significantly add to Crosstrek’s affordable base price – $20,000, we’re ready.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Redesign: What Will The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Look Like

The Subaru Crosstrek is getting a complete overhaul for the 2023 model year, and with new upgrades to come, you might want to wait for a new subcompact SUV.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek

The Subaru Crosstrek 2023 was spotted driving recently in metro Detroit, and it gives us an idea of what will change on the exterior when the hot Subaru model arrives next year. Check out more of the recent spy shots here.

The next-generation Crosstrek subcompact SUV is completely covered in camouflage, but there are no padded panels that give the new all-wheel-drive model a more defined look. Subaru Crosstrek fans hoping for a drastic change in exterior styling may be disappointed.

Subaru Corporation will not make any significant exterior changes. However, the next-generation Crosstrek will get a new front fascia, grille and headlights, as well as new rear doors and taillights at the rear.

There will be some changes to the rear of the new Crosstrek as the taillights remain C-shaped. Subaru engineers were able to make the tailgate opening wider like the next-generation Forester.

Although the interior is yet to be seen, Subaru is expected to equip the third-generation Crosstrek with the most advanced version of the Starlink multimedia system as well as updated EyeSight driver assistance functions and other technologies.

We know from sources close to Subaru; The Japanese automaker will launch the new Crosstrek Wilderness 2023 trim level. This would be a trim level worth waiting for if you can hold off on buying a subcompact SUV for another year.

With the 2022 Forester Wilderness sticking with the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine, the Crosstrek Wilderness will likely retain 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque in the 2.5-liter Boxer four-cylinder as well.

Subaru could upgrade its current naturally aspirated 2.5-liter Boxer engine with additional horsepower. True to its form, the Japanese automaker has been tight-lipped about releasing information about its all-new rugged adventure model. However, we didn’t expect the Crosstrek Wilderness to get a turbocharged 2.4-liter Boxer engine.

Like the Outback and Forester Wilderness trim levels, the all-new Crosstrek Wilderness will come with a sophisticated dual-function X-Mode, 9.2-inch elevated ground clearance like the Forester, all-terrain tires, standard front and rear skid plates, and an upgraded off suspension. -road.

The next-generation Subaru Crosstrek 2023 will make its first global launch in early 2023, and the Crosstrek Wilderness will arrive in the US in spring 2023. The subcompact SUV has just been spotted again in metro Detroit.

With the latest upgrades, you might want to wait for the all-new Subaru Crosstrek 2023. Stay tuned.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Changes

A spy photographer has captured testing the new Subaru Crosstrek 2023 on the streets of Detroit. Not expected to launch until late 2022, these photos give us almost a year’s worth of foresight into the future of this popular compact crossover.

First launched in 2011 and then updated in 2017, Crosstrek has mostly lasted a decade. Subaru has unveiled a number of new designs across their lineup recently, and this disguised prototype shows that the Crosstrek hasn’t been forgotten.

Despite being camouflaged, we can see that almost everything below the belt line has been redesigned. The biggest news lies ahead, where the new 2023 headlights, fenders, hood, grille and fascia will clearly distinguish the new generation.

The side contours have been simplified, and the modified C pillar shows structural changes. This is further evidenced at the rear with a new tailgate, as well as fresh headlights and bumper.

Under the new hood, expect the familiar 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer engine mated to either a six-speed automatic transmission or an optional continuously variable transmission.

Rumors also point to the possibility of a new 1.8L boxer four, although despite the notion of more efficient fuel economy, details about a possible powertrain remain lacking.

The Crosstrek is currently a well-received product, but of course there is a lot of hope after such a long production run.

Will this new generation finally deliver the long-awaited WRX performance trim? Maybe a revival of the classic Gravel Express? Time will tell, but Hyundai’s introduction of the Kona N is sure to catch Subaru’s attention.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Concept

The Subaru Crosstrek, also known in regions outside North America as the XV, has been an absolute hit for the Japanese automaker. Who knew that taking a regular Impreza hatch and providing higher ground clearance with extra cladding would work wonders for sales for Subaru.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek

Unfortunately, things aren’t so rosy right now, especially for North America’s Subaru, whose November sales are down 35 percent compared to the same month last year. Like other automakers, the shortage of semi-conductors hit them hard.

Thankfully, the all-new Crosstrek is on the horizon to revive interest – but will that be enough to start selling again? Let’s dive into the spy-shots, in-depth illustrations and explore everything we can expect from the next-generation model to arrive within the next year.

Back in 2017, Crosstrek currently has its next update that helps it stay fresh among the ever-increasing competition. The next year’s redesign retains a rock-solid evolutionary look – similar to the latest WRX and Levorg wagons.

The frontal styling starts with sleek matrix LED headlights punctuated by chrome spears that span the trapezoidal grille. At the bottom, the angular fog-light housing and contrasting black cladding add to the frontal dynamism.

Like the new WRX, the flared front and rear fender cladding looks like fake vents, and the rear has muscular thighs. The taillights have Subaru’s signature c-clamp aesthetic at the rear, while the lower part of the rear bumper has a funky cutout for the reflector lenses.

Do not expect significant surprises when it comes to the interior. Why? Because basically the cabin will be the same as what you find in the All New WRX, minus the sporty touch that Subaru applies to the compact performance.

This is good news, as it will feature an 11.6-inch portrait-style touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and wireless phone charging.

Security will also be a top priority. Here, Subaru’s Eyesight suite of driver assists will include autonomous emergency braking, lane-centering aid, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, 360-degree camera and driver attention monitor.

The new Crosstrek/XV rides on the same Subaru Global Platform (SGP) and is well regarded as an output car. Revisions to the frontal collision structure and additional torsional rigidity will further benefit the XV’s impressive ride and handling characteristics.

We’ve been hearing rumors of a sluggish 2.0-liter boxer four at the moment that might pave the way for a smaller 1.5-liter turbocharged unit with the same power but more torque.

Other possible candidates include the 1.8-liter boxer engine used in the Japanese market, the self-loading hybrid, and the 182-hp 2.5-liter non-turbo engine for US and Canadian consumption.

Like all Subaru BRZ bars, the Crosstrek puts its power to all four wheels via a continuously variable transmission and X-mode for off-road driving conditions. A ‘Wilderness’ edition with bigger rubber and higher ground clearance will also appear.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Features

Subaru’s suite of driver assistance and EyeSight active safety features should remain standard on the Crosstrek 2023.

If so, adaptive cruise control, fixed lane assist, lane departure warning, and front automatic emergency braking will be included. Automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-traffic alerts can also be part of the mix.

In recent years, Crosstrek has earned a Top Safety Pick designation from IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. We doubt Subaru will let that award slip away with Crosstrek 2023.

It’s possible the Crosstrek 2023 will be a little bigger and add a little more cargo space than the current model. That means a larger capacity of 20.8 cubic feet behind the second row and 55.3 cubic feet with the second row folded. Hopefully, the cargo space of the Hybrid model will no longer be bothered by the battery.

We expect the Crosstrek 2023 to offer similar technological features to the new WRX 2022. That means a basic setup consisting of dual touchscreens, one devoted to media and the other to climate control.

Higher-end models might get a large 11.6-inch vertically oriented touchscreen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity should be standard on all, with built-in navigation included depending on trim.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Exterior

The latest batch of spy shots gives the next-generation Subaru Crosstrek an extraordinary look.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek

This is the first time we’ve seen the development of the small crossover since it was revealed in a video that circulated in early November 2021.

This Subaru Crosstrek 2023 seems to already have a production body under its camouflage in the photo.

There are general similarities between this upcoming model and the current model, but with important changes.

The lower fascia now has a trapezoidal shape. The grille now has an upright model in the middle, and the mesh has a wavy trapezoidal pattern. The headlights also appear to have a sharper style.

On the side, the greenhouse shape is similar to the current model Subaru Crosstek. Meanwhile, for the next edition there is ventilation at the rear around the front wheels.

The shape of the rear pillars and glass on this hatchback model looks steeper than the current Subaru Crosstrek.

At the rear, the taillights have a clearer bracket shape on each side. The vertical outlet is on the rear bumper behind the wheels.

So far we don’t have pictures of the interior of the Subaru Crosstrek 2023.

But based on the latest Subaru currently on the market, the 2021 edition on the market, the interior might get a portrait-oriented infotainment screen.

Subaru recently updated the Crosstrek for the 2021 model year by offering an optional 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.

The engine produces 182 horsepower (135 kilowatts) and 176 pound-feet (239 newton-meters) of torque.

We suspect that the powertrain will carry over to the new model. So far there is no information about the future of its hybrid powertrain.

Subaru has already released details for its 2022 Crosstrek lineup, so don’t look for the new generation that will arrive until the 2023 model year.

Full introduction is possible next year. There is no info on whether the company intends to launch a Wilderness variant for the Subaru Outback and Forester.

If you prefer a fully electric crossover from Subaru, look forward to the Subaru Solterra which is currently on its way to the automotive market.

This Subaru Solterra EV produces a total of 215 hp (160 kW) and 248 pound-feet (336 Newton-meters) of torque from the electric motors driving each axle.

The 71.4 kilowatt-hour battery pack offers an estimated range of over 220 miles (354 kilometers) on a single charge.

2023 Subaru Cross Trek Wilderness

With the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness Edition trim level, Subaru makes an irresistible recipe for outdoor drivers: start with a regular Subaru; mix in a lift kit, protruding tires, skidplate and robust body cladding; then decorate with gold details. Will there be Crosstrek Wilderness? Maybe.

The thing is, the Crosstrek is already basically a Wilderness Impreza — basically based on that little hatchback, only beefed up with Wilderness-esque gear.

We could see Subaru extend the Wilderness trim level to the new models, but the Crosstrek would have to be significantly upgraded to justify the badge.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Sport

The 2022 Subaru Crosstrek remains unchanged and there’s no reason to wait if you’re thinking about buying one of the remaining 2021 models. Subaru Corporation chose to carry the 2022 model unchanged as a carryover.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek

We contacted Subaru of America, and a company spokesperson told us, “Crosstrek 2022 is built-in. No new features.” Why should customers wait for the 2023 model change?

Subaru Corporation made a significant upgrade for the 2021 model year by introducing a new Crosstrek Sport trim level and a Limited top trim with a new 2.5-liter Boxer engine. It was a good decision, and the Crosstrek is Subaru America’s hottest model. But better things are to come.

There are two reasons why Crosstrek 2022 is a carryover. The global shortage of microchips has severely limited the availability of new electronic features. That made it easier for Subaru to produce the best-selling Crosstrek without changes to the production line.

Here’s why you should wait for the Subaru Crosstrek 2023

If you want a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek, you’ll have to wait. Subaru Corporation lags behind in fulfilling its orders. If you order the 2022 model today, you can wait three months to get it.

The Subaru Crosstrek 2023 gets a complete makeover, and there are plenty of upgrades that customers want. Subaru Corporation will revamp the exterior with a new front fascia and LED headlights.

Technicians will make minor changes to the rear of the new Crosstrek as the taillights remain C-shaped. Subaru was able to make the tailgate opening of the new Crosstrek wider, making it easier to carry the mountain bike inside.

The Crosstrek will likely get a new touchscreen, next-generation EyeSight security technology, and the interior will be even bigger. Look for new aluminum-alloy wheels and a new exterior color.

Outdoor enthusiasts will want to await the all-new Crosstrek Wilderness trim level. Sources close to Subaru tell us that the automaker will launch the new Crosstrek Wilderness trim level in 2023.

The all-new Crosstrek Wilderness will come with a state-of-the-art dual-function X-Mode, a Forester-like 9.2-inch elevated ground clearance, standard front and rear skid plates, and an upgraded suspension for added off-road performance.

With the 2022 Forester Wilderness powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine, the Crosstrek Wilderness will likely retain 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque in the 2.5-liter Boxer four-cylinder.

Subaru may decide to upgrade its current naturally aspirated 2.5-liter Boxer engine with additional horsepower. True to its form, the Japanese automaker has been tight-lipped about releasing information about its all-new outdoor adventure model.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Engine

The 2022 Crosstrek Hybrid offers plug-in hybrid functionality with an electric range of up to 17 miles. The Crosstrek 2023 will also likely be available with a hybrid setup, although we expect the electric range to increase and the battery pack to be better integrated. On outgoing models, it takes up luggage space in the current car.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek

We’d love to see a turbocharged engine finally added to the Crosstrek lineup. The 2.4-liter unit found in the WRX seems like a natural fit, and it will transform the Crosstrek from a slowpoke to a rally-ready hatchback. Fingers Cross Trek.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid: Is The Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid Worth It

The next-generation Subaru Crosstrek debuted on the Motor1.com page in early November when we spotted testing a disguised prototype on public roads.

Recently, the crossover known outside of North America as the Subaru Xv Crosstrek 2023, returned in a new spy material that shows more of its design.

Thanks to a new rendering that our friends worked on at Kolesa.ru, we can already see what is hidden behind the camouflage.

It’s certainly a pleasure to be able to see these new Crosstrek digital images before anyone else does. And, we are kind enough to share this information with you.

The renderings here are based on the latest spy shots and depict the model from all angles. He looks very stylish, modern and dashing.

And we have to admit that we’d love to see the upcoming new Crosstrek build as closely as possible to this rendering. Because this rendering is very cool. Point.

There is nothing wrong with the design of the model. Although this new generation looks a little chubby in its dimensions.

And it gets a sharper front fascia with narrower headlights and a prominent radiator grille.

Viewed from the side, the overall shape appears to have hardly changed much.

Although the more muscular wheel arches and slightly larger wheels give the new model an impressive overall look.

The rear is nearly identical to the current Crosstrek, though it’s probably too early to judge given the amount of camouflage covering the prototypes we’ve come across.

However, the taillights could get a clearer bracket shape on each side. New vertical outlets on the rear bumper behind the wheels can give the crossover a sporty touch.

This latest generation of Crosstrek is expected to arrive as early as the third or fourth quarter of next year.

Oh yes, regarding the kitchen sector, Subaru has just updated the Crosstrek for the 2021 model year by offering an optional 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.

The engine produces 182 horsepower (135 kilowatts) and 176 pound-feet (239 newton-meters) of torque.

We suspect the powertrain will also be carried by the new model later. So far there is no information about the future of its hybrid powertrain.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Release Date

The next-generation Subaru Crosstrek 2023 will make its first global launch in early 2023. The Crosstrek Wilderness will arrive in the US in spring 2023. It’s worth the wait if you can hold off a year before buying the new Crosstrek subcompact SUV.

In the comments below, tell Subaru of America what changes you’d like to see in the next-generation Crosstrek 2023.

The Crosstrek/XV is in the highly competitive and compact crossover segment. Key rivals include the Toyota Corolla Cross, Mazda CX-30, Honda HR-V, Jeep Renegade, Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Skoda Karoq, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Hyundai Kona, and Kia Seltos (depending on the market, of course).

The new Subaru Crosstrek will debut late next year as an MY2023 entrant in North America and as a 2022 XV worldwide.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Price

We expect the price of the Subaru Crosstrek 2023 in its base trim to start at around $24,000.

It’s a slight upgrade from the 2022 model year, though much depends on how Subaru overhauls the powertrain options and if a new, more powerful 4-cylinder serves as the base engine.

Like the recently renovated Forester, we anticipate the Crosstrek Wilderness model will join the lineup and have an asking price of around $28,000, or right in the middle of the available trims.

Like the Forester Wilderness, the anticipated Crosstrek Wilderness will have thicker all-terrain tires, additional towing capacity, and several additional comfort and safety features.

On the high end, Crosstrek Limited 2023 is expected to start north of $30,000.
