2023 RAM 3500 Heavy trucks typically get major upgrades like the 2023 Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty Trucks. The updated Ram2500 may show off some trailer and tow upgrades.

The 2023 Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty models are expected to receive the new high-tech traction mirror. The updated mirror was found in two prototype models. They combine many features in a smaller package.

Both manual and electrical extension options are working. These include electrically adjustable heating windows, surveillance windows, integrated turn signals, LED pool lights, blind spot indicators, front and rear floodlights, 360-degree cameras, and new traction cameras.

Heavy trucks like the Ford F250 and the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 participated in towing games with improved visibility. This is very important to improve the towing experience and avoid accidents and friction with obstacles.

The Chevy offers up to 8 cameras with 15 different views. The four corners are for trial coupling. Ford offers both a 360-degree camera and a bedside camera, so it’s time for the Ram 2500 to catch up.

Yes, the 2023 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks will receive midcycle updates with new technology. You can get a slightly updated look with new bonnets, bumpers, LED headlights, taillights, and more. Of course, the new edition’s unique colors are also expected.

However, the 2022 Ram 2500 and 3500 models get some major upgrades if you don’t want to wait. For example, I received Uconnect 5 infotainment software. We can personally test the system and see that it is even faster with exciting new content.

The Silver Edition is available in Lone Star and Bighorn finishes. It raises the ante with lots of chrome exterior trim and black interior accents. Both trim levels also feature a new grille design.

Choose the Power Wagon for a unique grille with black headlight bezels and upgraded interior materials. It also features an electronic transfer case, a 12.5-inch touch screen, and a 750-watt Harmon Kardon stereo.

2023 RAM 3500 Updates Review

It’s been four model years since its last major mid-cycle-action (MCA), but the Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickup remains fairly competitive against new competition from Ford and General Motors (GM).

2023 RAM 3500

Over the past decade, the truck market has played a constant battle between three automakers over bragging rights about towing, payload, and technology. And it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down any time soon.

With the 2023 model year approaching, we have seen that Ford and GM are eagerly working on updated versions of their current line of heavy-duty pickup trucks. Today, for the first time we saw Ram engineers test some of their newest equipment for the upcoming 2023 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickup.

It appears that the Ram Truck brand will continue to offer its Heavy-Duty lineup based on the fourth-generation Ram 2500 (DJ) and 3500 (D2) platforms. These two new prototypes don’t show much change in the style department, but we’re sure we’ll start seeing more style updates ahead of Spring.

The most notable change in 2023 is the rearview mirror. This Ram 2500 Limited Longhorn Megacab represents an early development unit for the all-new 2023 truck side mirrors.

Limited Longhorn Reviewer seems to be equipped with a 3D printed version of the new deployable rearview mirror. These pictures give a good idea of how the new rearview mirror works because the mechanism doesn’t have a plastic cover.

According to our sources, the new mirror design will be available in both power and manual applications. They will also house electric and heated glass and surveillance glass, LED pool lights, blind spot indicators, 360-degree cameras, front and rear floodlights, LED turn signals, and a new tow camera.

Most of the features have been adapted into the “deer” folding crane mirrors currently in the Ram Heavy Duty lineup, but now the mirrors don’t need to be folded up when pulled.

Another test truck that caught our eye is this Olive Green Ram 2500 with what looks like a new, more production-ready mirror unit covered in black vinyl camouflage.

The hood has also been closed, but again sources close to HDRams.com have stated that this truck is not a 2023 Ram 2500 Power Wagon, but an all-new off-road-oriented Ram 2500 Rebel model.

2023 RAM 3500 Redesign

That’s right, Ram will be offering an all-new Rebel model for the 2023 model year. Yes, Ram is now offering Rebel outside of its Ram 1500 lineup, as we saw in Latin America’s Ram 1000 Rebel.

The Rebel will use many styling elements of the Ram 2500 Power Wagon, but this time it will allow for a more aggressive offroad Cummins package.

As you can see in the photos, this 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel prototype features a black version of the 18-inch x 8-inch Limited Longhorn aluminum WRA wheels, a set of BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, a Power Wagon grille to match the motif.

Ram 1500 Rebel, Flare Power Wagon fenders, and the absence of holes for the WARN Power Wagon winch in the lower grille. We were hoping there might be a new hood design for the Rebel, to help differentiate it from the Power Wagon.

2023 RAM 3500 Specs

Even if you get a base model 2500 with a gas V8, RamHD is an absolute flagship product. The standard engine is fine. The 2500’s maximum traction capacity is £ 17,740, which exceeds the needs of most truck drivers.

2023 RAM 3500

The Cummins Turbo Diesel is a great engine and worth the upgrade if you have the budget. If you regularly tow seriously, this is the machine you want. The torque feels infinite and you can pull up a big camper without sweating. When properly equipped on the 3500, this engine offers a best-in-class traction capacity of up to 37,100 pounds.

In everyday traffic, this is a smooth and comfortable truck. Of course, it has enough power, especially when not towing or towing. The handle has some play, but it is suitable for towing. With the optional air suspension, Ram HD is extremely comfortable.

The offroad-oriented Power Wagon model is outstanding. It has a clever offroad suspension system with a removable sway bar, a Warn winch, a 360degree camera, and of course, a rugged display package. New for 2022 is the electronic transfer box available in the Power Wagon.

You can have the Ram HD with a gas-powered 6.4liter Hemi V8 or a 6.7liter Cummins turbodiesel inline6. The standard V8 has enough capability to satisfy most drivers, but the Cummins is a worthwhile upgrade if you’re going to do some serious towing. A special high-output version of this engine is available exclusively for the 3500 models.

Rear-wheel drive is standard, and 4wheel drive is optional on all but the Power Wagon 4WD models only. All 2500 models have a single rear wheel configuration, but a dual rear wheel “double” arrangement is optional for the 3500.

The V8 has an 8speed automatic transmission, and the Cummins has a 6speed automatic transmission.

We don’t have a fuel economy estimate for the Ram HD because the EPA did not test trucks of this class.

  • 6.4-liter V8
    • 410 horsepower @ 5,600 rpm
    • Torque 429 lb-ft @ 4,000 rpm
    • EPA city/highway fuel economy: N/A

We also noticed that the Uconnect 5’s 12-inch display remained vertical on the instrument panel until 2023.
